=Sentence Fragments, Run-Ons, and Comma Splices
= A sentence fragment is...
Fragments are incomplete sentences. They are little pieces that have been cut off from the main clause. Often you will be able to fix it nice and easy by removing the period that separates them. Allow the dependent and the independent clause to mingle. Ex. After Yuri stops squirming. I will go get myself a sandwich. Ways to Correct 1. You can fix this by moving the first sentence after the second sentence and removing the period. 2. You can also just replace the period with a comma. A run-on is... Also known as fused sentences, for they are two sentences mixed in one without proper separation. Ex. My favorite pasta is chicken farfalle it is very delicious. Ways to Correct 1.You can use a semi-colom after farfalle. 2. You can use a comma and a conjuction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so). In this example the comma is after farfalle and for is after the comma. 3. You can use a subordinating conjuction between farfalle and it.
